In these uncertain times, everybody wants to know about holidays and cancellation policies. We promise we are not here to make money from cancellations. Our family is in the business of creating your family's holiday memories. So, we've torn up our cancellation policy. You can rest assured if COVID-19 gets in the way of your holiday plans, we will provide you with a full refund or credit for a future stay, right up to the day of your arrival. No cancellation fees and no strings attached. You can book your Beacon getaway with complete confidence that you will be looked after. 

Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale are renowned for the picturesque beaches and idyllic views. The main ocean surf beach is known as Point Lonsdale back beach and stretches for 900m and is patrolled from late November through to Easter.  The back beach is only a short 5 minute drive from BIG4 Beacon Resort.

The coastline between Point Lonsdale and Queenscliff offers calm bay beaches popular with children and families.  These beaches are only minutes walk from BIG4 Beacon Resort.

Point Lonsdale back beach, located on Point Lonsdale Road, provides the perfect beach breaks on a northerly wind, a low to moderate swell at mid to high tide as the reefs are exposed at low tide.

There are two bus stops situated near the resort.  There is a pick up point on the corner of Ward Road and Bellarine Hwy which takes you into Queenscliff and another opposite which takes you through to Point Lonsdale, Ocean Grove and Geelong.

BIG4 Beacon Resort is located near the roundabout at the end of the Bellarine Highway between Point Lonsdale and Queenscliff.  It is a short 4 minute drive or 45 minute walk to Queenscliff.  To visit picturesque Point Lonsdale, it is a short 3 minute drive or a 20 minute walk along the beach promenade to the main street.

Beacon Bus Tours and Charter is a charter service operates both locally and beyond.  Transfers within the 3225 postcode are offered at $6 per person one way.  The service must be pre-booked.

Cots or highchairs are available for hire free of charge upon request.  The cots are clean, easy to assemble.  They have a small mattress at the base with mesh sides for safety.  Cot linen is also available upon request.

The closest BP service station is located on Point Lonsdale Road, 750 metres from the resort or a short 1 minute drive.

During off peak season we offer 6pm check-out charging $45 for accommodation and $20 for powered sites.  This offer is subject to availability and is only available upon request at reception.  During peak seasons check-out is 10am for accommodation and 11am for powered sites.

Accommodation and site fees are based on a nightly rate with a minimum charge covering up to two people.  Additional person fees apply for any extra ovenight guests aged 2 years and over.  Infants under two years of age stay free with two paying guests.  Day visitors are welcome at no charge.  Minimum stays and seasonal rate variations also apply.   Day visitors are welcome at no charge (day visitors who use the pool, jumping pillow or indoor playroom need to be registered with reception and pay $17 for full day use of all facilities).

Bike hire is available between the hours of 8am - 7pm.  All bikes must be returned by 7pm.  Mountain bikes are available for hire hourly, half day (up to 4 hours) or full day with rates starting from $10.  Bike hire is exclusive to resort guests.  Bike helmets are included in the price of bike hire.  Click here for more information.

Yes.  There is no charge for Beacon guests for racket rental.

Safeway Ocean Grove is the closest 'big' supermarket to Beacon.  It is approximately 7 minutes away.  The girls at reception can provide you with directions.  There is also an IGA in Point Lonsdale and a FoodWorks in Queenscliff.  Groceries can also be ordered online( through Safeway or Coles) and delivered to us prior to your arrival. 

Seabreeze milkbar is across the road - around 20 metres away.  They offer fresh rolls, sandwiches and hot food as well as drinks and snacks.  Alternatively, head down to the Point Lonsdale main street cafes (approximately 15 minute walk).

Naturally we think our Espresso Coffee is the best in town although there are other options should you wish to venture out!  According to www.beanhunter.com, Belsize & Co or Saltbush Fine Foods (both in Hesse Street) score high on their list.  Charlie Noble & Lix on the harbour also serve great coffee, offering the view for free!

Cliffe's Cafe & Pizza is a favorite of ours and ranks well on Trip Advisor.  Also rating high is Lombardy's on Hesse for takeaway and delivery.

BIG4 Beacon Resort offers Aussie BBQ Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights.  Your meal can be enjoyed in the function room or delivered to your room.  We can also deliver ready-made meals from local restaurant. 360Q, to your room for you to heat and eat.

The two ferries criss cross Port Phillip Bay 24 times a day 7 days a week. Departing every hour, on the hour the regular service is convenient and easy, saving time and kilometres.  The first ferry departs Queenscliff at 7am with the last ferry departing Queenscliff at 6pm (7pm during peak summer holiday periods).

The ferries, MV Queenslciff and MV Sorrento carry foot passengers, bicycles, cars, motorbikes, trailers, caravans, motorhomes, coaches and trucks. Car vehicle fares are based on length and number of passengers, trucks based ion carrying capacity and coaches on passenger capacity.

You can book, pay and receive your tickets for the ferry at reception (some packages require a 24 hour lead time).

The nearest ATM is located in Hesse St, Queenscliff (5 minutes drive). Cash out is available at the IGA in Point Lonsdale with a purchase. 

The nearest beach is a two minute stroll from the resort. Just make your way across the road and look for the triangle beacon up on the pole. The walkway to the beach is located beneath the Beacon (to the left of the skatepark).
